What you should know:
- We are excited to announce that The Mirage Volcano renovation will begin on Monday, February 4, 2008. The Volcano will erupt for the last time on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at midnight. The reopening is scheduled for late October 2008. Details of the remodel and upgrade to this key hotel feature will be announced once more information becomes available.
- The hotel is planning a 110 million dollar redesign of all guestrooms and suites beginning February 10, 2008. Updated accommodations will feature plush pillowtop mattresses, 42 inch LCD TVs, iPod/MP3 compatible clock radios, new furniture, and whisper-quite door closures. During the remodel the hotel advises that requests for new rooms cannot be guaranteed.

The newly renovated, tropical-themed Mirage Hotel and Casino boasts an indoor rainforest, a dolphin habitat, and one of the most famous spectacles in Las Vegas--the Mirage's erupting volcano. The hotel is located at the heart of the Strip. It is approximately four miles from McCarran International Airport.
The entrance of the hotel is home to a lagoon with towering waterfalls and a 54-foot high volcano that spews smoke and fire 100 feet above the water once an hour nightly. Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat features dolphins swimming in the two and one-half million-gallon pools. Also created for the Mirage by Siegfried and Roy is the White Tiger Habitat, a tropical environment featuring the exotic cats. The 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium in the lobby features 1,000 coral reef creatures. The 100-foot atrium houses a tropical rainforest. The casino offers slot machines, poker tables, table games, a high-limit lounge, and a race and sports book.
Live entertainment includes the new show LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. Mirage is also home to singer-comedian Danny Gans, and touring headline entertainers. The newly redesigned Spa and Kim Vo Salon feature massage therapies, beauty treatments and hydrotherapies. The Revolution Lounge is a 7,000 square-foot lounge featuring psychedelic floors, walls, and tables with pulsating lights, as well as musical theme nights, and the Beatles-themed Abbey Road Bar. JET is a three-floor, four-bar nightclub. Dining options include Japonais, STACK, Fin, kokomo's, Onda Ristorante & Wine Lounge, Samba Brazilian Steakhouse, Caribe Cafe, Cravings, the Carnegie Delicatessen, the Paradise Cafe, and more. The property also includes six bars and lounges. Other amenities include boutique shopping, the tropical outdoor pool area, and European sunbathing at Bare (for a fee).

With more than 40 hotels, casinos and resorts providing lavish shows, you don't
have to look hard for diversion in Las Vegas. In addition to the offerings of
various casinos, there's the nightly Fremont Street Experience light-and-sound
show, held in a pedestrian mall (every hour on the hour, 6 pm-midnight). The

Late January:
Las Vegas Marathon.
More than 7,500 runners compete in the full marathon (26.2 mi/42 km),
half-marathon (13.1 mi/21 km) and 5K Friendship Run. A post-marathon party and

Archery Festival. Archers compete in the first leg of the new 3 Star Tour

Early-Late May: Laughlin Mile Dragon Boat Challenge. This ancient
Chinese sport comes to Laughlin as local and international teams of 20 rowers, a
steersman and a drummer paddle 44-ft. -long Chinese war canoes down 1 mi/1.5 km
of the Colorado River. The best viewing spot is the River Walk, where a cultural
